Health Department Flu Update: 2/5/10
TThe Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center will offer a walk-in H1N1 vaccine clinic from Tuesday, February 9, to Friday, February 12, from 12:00 p.m. to 5:00 p.m. at the Belvidere Discount Mall, 2107 Belvidere Road in Waukegan . The vaccine is offered free of charge.
It is not too late to get your H1N1 shot. The best way to protect yourself against H1N1 is by getting immunized. Two waves of H1N1 illnesses have already occurred, one in the spring and one in the fall. If the 2009 H1N1 pandemic is like others, a third wave of illness could still occur. In addition, the flu season lasts through April in Illinois and almost all flu illnesses at this point have been attributed to the H1N1 virus.
Appointments still can be made for the Lake County Health Department/Community Health Center H1N1 flu vaccination clinic in Gurnee.
